Chitratapasvi Bhalji Pendharkar



Born in Kolhapur on 3 May 1898. From boyhood, he has been distant and had a spiritual outlook on life. At a young age, he was obligated by "Satguru Sadanand." He gave his life in the liberation movement with Babarao Savarkar and Chandrashekhar Azad. He began his professional career as a title writer for Kalamaharshi Baburao Painter's "Maharashtra Film Company." He eventually began producing plays and worked continually and independently created films based on his life's three guiding ideas - "God, Nation, and Religion" - until he died at the age of 97. Nearly sixty films were produced and directed by him. Not only did he produce the movie, but he also contributed to the scripts, dialogues, and music. Along with entertainment, he was primarily concerned in social awakening. He attempted to instill emotions of state pride and patriotism in the population via his historical films, particularly during the pre-independent period. His thoughts and efforts, as a great philosopher and patriot, are extraordinary and significant. In recognition of his contributions to the country and film business, he received the industry's highest honor, the "Dadasaheb Phalake Award."
