Bal Dhuri

 

Bal Dhuri is an actor in Marathi theater. He married Jayshree Gadkar, a well-known actress in Marathi and Hindi films;  the pair had one child together. He is best known for his many appearances in Marathi films and for portraying King Dasharatha in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana television drama (where Jayshree played his wife, Kaushalya). He played a pivotal role in giving a break to legendary actor Shivaji Satam in the musical drama Sangeet Varad. simply put, He helped actor Shivaji Satam to establish himself in the industry. He began his career in 1970s. Following that, he established himself as a regular feature in the Marathi cinema industry. Apart from Marathi films, he has also worked in Hindi films like Eeshwar and Tere Mere Sapne. One of his films that deserves particular notice is Apun Chapun in Marathi. He has not been seen in public in more than a decade, and his most recent feature was Sadarakshanaay, which was released in 2011.
