Samir Choughule is an Indian actor, writer, and comedian who was born on June 29, 1973, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He is known for his versatility and his slapstick performances in comedy roles. Samir has acted in Marathi, Hindi, and English shows including daily soaps, comedy shows, theater plays, and movies. He is currently famous for his role in the comedy show "Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra" which is telecasted on Sony Marathi.
Samir completed his schooling from Shailendra Education Society and graduated from M L Dahanukar College of Commerce in 1993. Initially, he was interested in sports, but after receiving success and encouragement for his acting performances in school and college, he decided to pursue a career in acting. Samir worked in Mumbai for some time before taking up acting as a full-time career in 2002. Since then, he has acted in various dramas, TV serials, and movies. He is a team lead on the comedy show "Maharashtrachi Hasya Jatra."
Apart from acting, Samir is also a regular contributor to Saamana e-paper under the column "Fulora" where he writes about various flavors of life. He grew up in the Virar-Nallasopara area and is married to Kavita. The couple lives in the same area.
Samir has acted in several Marathi movies and theater plays. Some of his notable movies include "Kaydyacha Bola," "Aajcha Divas Majha," "Vakratunda Mahakaaya," "A Paying Ghost," "Vikun Taak," and "Chandramukhi." Samir has also acted in TV serials such as "Tikal te Political," "Ambat God," "Honar Sun Me Hya Gharchi," "Comedychi Bullet Train," "Kunku," "Aajke Shriman Shrimati," "Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra," "Saare Tujhyachsathi," "Assa Maher Nako Ga Baai!," and "Post Office Ughade Aahe."
Samir has received several awards and recognition for his outstanding performances. He won the Sanskruti Kaladarpan Natya Vibhag award in 2016 and the Zee Natya Gourav Puraskar 2015 for Best Comedy Actor for the drama "Balak Palak."
